Cognos and Giuliani Group Form Alliance to Deliver Corporate Performance Management Solutions
Management Accountability firm, Founded by Rudolph W. Giuliani, Selects Cognos as Exclusive BI Partner for Performance Management

March 10, 2003 - Ottawa, ON and Burlington, MA. Cognos (Nasdaq:COGN; TSX:CSN), the world leader in business intelligence (BI) and performance management, today announced a joint alliance with the Giuliani Group, a leading management consulting firm headed by Rudolph W. Giuliani. The alliance will combine market-leading technology from Cognos and consulting best practices established by the Giuliani Group to provide corporate performance management (CPM) solutions to the public and private sectors.

Under the agreement, Giuliani Group will implement Cognos' business intelligence technology as part of the performance management programs it offers to public and private sector clients. The Cognos products used will include Cognos Metrics Manager, Cognos Series 7, and Cognos Enterprise Planning. The Giuliani Group plans to use its proven methodologies and skills in management accountability in conjunction with Cognos' solutions to improve the way organizations make decisions and track performance.
